Department of Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, University of Kerala organized and hosted a series of biannual symposiums, ‘Bioinformatica Indica’ during 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2016 respectively. The foot prints of all the four episodes show a warm acceptance by the scientific community across the globe for its inherent creative and scholarly ambiance. The new edition Bioinformatica Indica 2018 is scheduled to be held on 2018 Jan 08-10 with extensive research themes related to Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, and Ayur-informatics. The vision of the Bioinformatica Indica 2018 is to provide a galaxy of eminent professionals in these fields with the aim of promoting academic and industrial collaborations and thereby generating fresh insight in the related areas.
Bioinformatica Indica 2018 is uniquely designed upholding five sustainable values – Simple, Low Cost, Frugal, Eco-friendly and Ethnic. Hope all the delegates will appreciate and enjoy the innovative approach.
In addition, the climate in Keralam, God’s Own Country will be at its pleasant peak in January, offering a memorable retreat. Kerala’s enchanting beauty is its rich presence of coconut trees, boat race, Kathakali etc. As usual, Bioinformatica Indica packages some cultural content too in the form of a grand cultural evening.

Bioinformatica Indica offers opportunity to present your original research work as Oral presentations or Poster presentations. Kindly make sure that the submitted abstract falls under the themes of this edition of the symposium.
Submit an abstract that falls within the themes of the symposium. The abstract should be sent to [email protected] with the subject line BioIndica 2018: Abstract -
Abstract should not exceed 300 words (NOT including title, authors and affiliation).
It should NOT include any tables, images, pictures or references.
Please use the font Arial (12 size) and single spacing.
Authors: Include author's name(s) (first name, middle initial, surname), affiliation, city and country and email address of the corresponding author.
Identify the presenting author by underlining his/her name.
The file should be send as a *.ODT / *.DOC file suitable for processing with LibreOffice Writer / Microsoft Word.
Abstract should be received on or before December 10, 2017. Acceptance of the abstract will be communicated to the presenting authors on or before December 20, 2017 by email only.
The scientific committee will examine the abstracts carefully and select abstracts for oral/ poster presentations respectively.
Abstracts selected for oral presentations: The presenting author will be given 3 min to present their work.
Abstracts selected for poster presentation: The guideline for the poster presentation will be emailed to you.
All selected abstracts (oral and poster) will be given an exciting opportunity to present their work in 1 min with a maximum of 3 slides.
The organizers and editors reserve the right to reject any abstract that does not meet the above requirements, and to edit abstracts if required.
Selection for oral/poster abstracts based on its scientific value is the sole discretion of the scientific committee.
